Then, it could be reasonable to assume that "Castiel's identity as an angel" would not be a valid reason for him to be targeted. He may have been a random selection. I know last year, it was said the wolves targeted known associates... this year, they are coordinated, and they appear to be hiding things together.

There was no trace magic around Castiel, investigations said. That does not mean the wielder did NOT have magic, only that they had to have the strength to accomplish the task. As the killer is confirmed to be a Diamond, that leaves relatively few. I don't know everyone, but the ones I can comment on solely from observation or :

1. August Moreau. Could be strong enough.
2. Armand. Already accused, but he'd have his vampiric strength back. I don't think he did this one, but I won't exclude him just yet.
3. Hawkins Fuller. He's tall, strong.

This is not to exclude anyone else, including the already-imprisoned Danny Johnson, only to say that my knowledge is limited. And that — if Castiel fought back, and his attacker HAPPENED to have to heal normally... might they have defensive wounds?

August seems a sure bet. Strong enough. Summons things. Gossip around here's like TMZ, btw.

Again, magic was not used against Castiel. August's ability to summon has no objective bearing when he was accused of killing Castiel. Someone had to be physically strong enough to hold him down, while he fought back, AND hammer him into place — singlehandedly.

I try not to discuss motive and character can apparently be corrupted, by one's status as a wolf. You saw his physique at the accusations last time. I think he'd be able to hold down most men — and judging by his comments about Danny Johnson, he can and has. And he mentioned experience enough to teach BDSM.

Don't know. I've known people like Danny. I've known people like Koby. And Cas. And Natalie. And everyone else. I learned people aren't that surprising. Sometimes, people are worse than the monsters.
