I forgot that you had the dog. Good.

[Despite his stern intensity and the fact that he was a soldier, a sentinel of heaven Castiel had an affinity for animals early on. Even the smallest of them, first he found them interesting and then he found them endearing.

He regarded humanity the same way, most of it, anyway - save for Dean, Sam, and those he'd met in their company. Certainly, humans were capable of atrocious things, acts of evil, but Dean had proven that they were capable of more than just selfish whims. It was Dean that changed everything.

The last thing Castiel said to Dean echoes in his ears, he blots it out instead by focusing on Dean. The way he's holding himself, he hasn't been sleeping well. Not that he ever did, but worse than usual. The ache in his bones, the steel reserve of his stubbornness toted out in full.]

That's not fair. [At first it seems like genuine offense was taken, but Castiel's lips turn up in the ghost of a smile. He's treading carefully, he'd been worried that Dean would still be angry. If not about the same thing as before, about the abandonment and about where his allegiance had to be moving forward.] I know how to make an entrance too. Remember? You tried to stab me in the heart.
